Nathalie (Naddi)

Born: 05.09.1997
Died: 07.09.2001

Naddi was an absolutely beautiful Bordeaux, which her show results tells about. But in defiance of her beauty and her absolutely irresistible nature, she never became part of our breeding program. Naddi was the dog that 100% lived up to our motto; “ It´s easy to breed a beautiful Bordeaux, but if you also want a dog to be healthy in mind and body, it really becomes difficult”.

Naddi had very bad hips, and because of that, we would never dare to use her for breeding. Already when she was 3 years old, we could see in her movements that she was not physically healthy. We were very sad to have a dog with such bad hips (status E), and other dog-lovers would have been too. So instead of that breeding dog we dreamt Naddi would be, she ended up living her life as a highly beloved pet here in our house.

Naddi died in September 2001 after only a few days illness. Her nervous system was attacked by an infection, and because of that she became blind and lost control over her movements.

DKCH, SCH, INTCH, NORVIN99, NORVIN00 Istarskog Porijekla Monty

Born: 22.08.1996
Died: 14.02. 2003

Monty was a beautiful Bordeaux, both on the inside as well as the outside. He managed to reach the titles as Danish-, Swedish- and International Champion. He was Nordic Winner in 1999 and 2000, and Sieger in Neumünster, Germany, both in 1998 and 1999. He also passed the Danish Kennel Klub test in obedient school class 1.

Monty was a very gentle and always happy dog. He always behaved like he was bigger and better than other dogs. If other dogs were trying to provoke him, he just looked at them as if he was saying; “Go away, you are bothering me”. Normally that was more than enough to make the other dogs turn and run away. Monty was always glad in fact I think he was born happy. We nearly never saw him without his tail swinging back and forth.

Monty had that kind of mind and temper that I will try as hard as I possibly can to keep in my breeding program. He was calm, phlegmatic, happy, and in a way he was so impressive we never forgot how impressing he was.

Monty became the father of 5 litters. He gave his wonderful temper to nearly all his puppies, so his life will go on for a long time to come.

Monty died in February 2003. He had a cerebral haemorrhage and the following problems made his life miserable.

Charming Red Athene

Born: 09.07.1998
Died: 27.02.2003

Athene was small, feminine, sweet and a very sincere female, who had really got her father, Istarskog Porijekla Monty´s, wonderful temper. But even though she was a really calm female, she was also the one and only leader of her pack. Tough but fair, and if necessary the one that stood up for her pack 100% if they came in trouble.

Athene lived her life at my good friend, Susanne´s, house. Susanne has had many dogs in many different breeds, but she has never had such a unique and complex dog as Athene. Athene was always the one being there 100% for Susanne, and their friendship was quite amazing.

In defiance of several matings we never succeeded in getting Athene pregnant. I really had hoped, that she should have been the one giving the incredible health and staying power from her mother, Marenga Power of Beauty (Freja), into my breeding with the Bordeaux.

Athene died in February 2003. We had to say goodbye all to early, because Athene got cancer in her lymph system.

Ginger La Pousseë

Born: 08.12.1997
Died: 21.06.2003

Ginger was a funny little lady. She was always ready for playing, even the slightest request for fun were taken.

Ginger came to Charming Red in January 2002. She walked into our life like she had never been anywhere else.

Ginger met the World with an open mind. She was very obliging towards everything, and she never became reserved in a stressed situation like the other dogs. If anyone would touch her she were happy, and she really showed her delight. She really liked to be in contact, both with people and other animals.

Ginger came to Charming Red both because of her physical health, was is 100% okay, and because of her wonderful temper.

Ginger became the mother of my D-litter.

Unfortunately we only had the 1½ year together with this wonderful dog. Ginger had a cerebral haemorrhage witch damaged that part of her brain that control her movements. So she was walking around like she was drunk, not knowing what her legs were doing. It was not a good life, and she was very frightened about what was happening to her. So I had to make the hard decision, and let the Vet. put her to sleep. It was all too early.

Robin da Casa dos Arcos

Born: 28.12 2000
Dead: 04.09 2005

Robin came to Charming Red in April 2003, nearly 2½ year old. Very quickly he became a member of the pack here, and he was happy together with my females.

To get Robin was some kind of a chock. Never in my life, have I had a dog that could make so much noise. You could always hear Robin, because there were always grunting / noisy chewing / snoring around him. Never in my life have I met a dog, with so special opinions about everything you did to him. You could never do anything to him, without hearing a deep growling from his stomach. He was that kind of dog, you always asked for permission, if there was anything you wanted to do with him.

What Robin didn’t have in size (he was only 60 cm. tall), he had more than enough in personality and charm. When he was home, he could move like he was never touching the ground. That dog could really fly. And that together with his big attitude, made him look like a much bigger dog. When I brought him to shows, everything changed. Robin hated the ring, and I could nearly not make him go just one round in there. I actually nearly had to carry him around. That was his way to tell me, that I could just take him home again. So very fast I took the decision, not to show him anymore.

Even though Robin lived the first 2½ year in a kennel, and first became family dog when he came to Charming Red, he was the most tolerant, friendly and kind dog you could ever imagine. Especially children had a big place in his heart, and if he could be a part of their playing, you could always find him there.

The 4. of September 2005 we had to drive the last time to the Vet. to say goodbye to a dear beloved friend. Blood tests had shown us, that his kidneys was in so bad conditions, that he could never get a life worth living.

Charming Red Anton

Born: 07.09 1998
Dead: 06.02 2006

Anton was a wonderful dog, and even though he never had his life here in this house, he came very close to my heart. He had his father, Monty´s, wonderful calm nature, and like him, Anton wanted everything to happen nice and quiet.

Even though I loved Anton very much, it was nothing compared to the family where he lived his life. Anton was “the child” of the house, and in many ways he was the natural centre of the family. Every time I came for a visit, there were always something new to tell about Anton and all the funny things he did. Anton was the kind of dog, who could figure out so many strange things, and lucky for his family, it nearly always was funny things.

Anton was a big and always happy dog. The only things he did not like, was visiting the Vet. or going to shows. Anton wanted a quiet life, so it isn´t hard to imagine that this was way too noisy to him to like.

The 6. of February we had to say goodbye to Anton. The Vet had found cancer in liver and lungs, and he was so sick, that the only thing we could do, was to say goodbye and thanks for all the wonderful things you gave us.

Marenga Power of Beauty

Born: 07. 09.1996
Dead: 07.05.2006

Even though Freja never was the prototype of a bordeaux, I have never been hiding her away. She was 100 % Dogue de Bordeaux inside, and her body and movements were correct. So in defiance of her long nose, she became the mother of our first litter.

Freja was the leader of the pack all her life, and never one single day we were in doubt of her position. Her superior attitude were quite unique, and she was that kind of dog you never just walked by, no matter if you were a dog ore a human being.

Freja was that kind of dog who really enjoyed everything good in life. Her biggest pleasure was to have a nap together with her mom. She also liked to sleep on her back, laying in the middle of the sun, especially if she could get her moms place.

But also in many other ways Freja enjoyed life. When she came to the sea or to the forest, she completely forgot how old she was. Her nose was constantly enjoying all she different things she could find, and in the sea she was swimming like a fish.

Freja was the best dog I have ever had. Even though I could not show her, or in some peoples eyes in decency could show her at all, she was for me a very unique and wonderful acquaintance. She took that one special place in my heart that is now so empty. I have had many dogs in my life, and I have loved all of them. But for me she will always be something special.

Freja were that kind of dog, who never visited the vet. But the 7. of May 2006 her old body gave up. She had been going down for a few month, but this morning in may she did not have anything left to give, and she died in the car on our way to the vet.

Freja we miss you, and we will never forget you. You were so special.
